CLEAN AIR COALITION EVENTS

Let's Do Lunch

The North Texas Clean Air Coalition Let’s Do Lunch program is a monthly outreach event designed to educate employers about air quality issues including EPA standards, transit solutions, telecommuting and flex-time as well as designing energy conservation measures for their businesses and utilizing sustainable practices to reduce their impact on the environment. The NTCAC works in conjunction with the Founding Member Partners to provide information on clean air initiatives including facts and figures and what they mean for the region now and in the future.

EVENTS

A group of public officials pedaled from home for a pre-work, commuters bike rally at the Intermodal Transportation Center to show Fort Worth's  support for bicycle riding on National Bike to Work Day, May 21. From left are Vernon Leonard, Fort Worth Bicycling Association; T President Dick Ruddell; Benbrook City Council Member Jim Wilson; Tarrant County officials:  Commissioner Gary Fickes, Judge Glen Whitley, Tax Assessor-Collector Betsy Price; and Don Pierson, candidate for county court-at-law judge. The T hosted the rally for the 3rd year to promote cycling as a cost-efficient way to address mobiilty and air quality concerns and encourage bike-bus-train combos.

Other participants included the Fort Worth Police Bike Patrol, MedStar Bicycle Emergency Response Team, Deputy Fire Chief Fernando Gonzalez, Fort Worth's Environmental Management and Parks and Community Service departments, North Texas Clean Air Coalition, North Central Texas Council of Governments and Bicycles, Inc.
